Bond House
Bond House
Whether you take your martinis shaken or stirred, we think everybody can agree on that this getaway is worthy of James Bond himself. Made from a single 8’-0” x 40’-0” container, it sleeps up to four people and maximizes views with an open living, open kitchen concept.
One core programmatic feature of the “James Bond House” is its ability to fold up. When closed, it gives the impression of an impenetrable object or secret hideout. When the two 15’-0” bifolding doors are open, the dividing line between interior and nature is blurred.
The striking views provide big impact for this small footprint design. The light through the windows is a warmly glowing beacon on a dark night, welcoming you inside for a steaming cup of coffee and an enjoyable stay.
The design’s darkened steel reinforces the impression of a hideout while protecting it from the elements and providing a sleek look. The steel also sheds rainwater into a collection tank, which can then be used for drinking or bathing.
While the exterior is strong and imposing like Bond himself, the interior is inviting and comfortable. This design boasts a full-length wall of custom cabinetry made from high-end birch plywood. It houses fold-out beds, storage, and a kitchen while ensuring an open and spacious floor plan when not in use.
