Mandalorian
Mandalorian
Dubbed “The Mandalorian” this option draws its inspiration from the local vernacular architecture. Being sited in an area known for its mining history, the rusty exterior seeks to blend in as though it has always been part of the land while providing a robust layer of protection from the elements.
The interior, in contrast, becomes a finely crafted “jewel box” of folding custom cabinetry that adapts depending on what is happening in the space. Conceived as two 20’-0” shipping containers placed side by side, this option seeks to eliminate the “tunnel feel” one might experience from a singular long narrow container.
Upon arrival, the entrance and structure are unassuming, being closed into a singular solid structure when unoccupied. As the dwelling is inhabited, the guest literally unfolds and opens the building to its surroundings. Large glass openings joins the house to its environment even further while providing broad views from every spot in the this desert-themed getaway.
